My name is David Bradley James and I’m killing time while I wait for life to shower me with meaning and happiness. |
I drove home with the windows down tonight. It reminded me of driving around Riverside in that bomb of a Ford Ranger I use to have, blasting Van Morrison, ending up at Scotty’s house with Tyler Hoehne or at the Yard House with “The Group.” Van Morrison blends himself into any situation and fits around it like a memory foam mattress with Egyptian cotton sheets draping down it’s side. If asked, I could rattle off a laundry list of memories that involve Van Morrison. This song came on Pandora right before I left work. It was divine intervention. Specifically: “If you don’t see me singing Jack of Diamonds or if you don’t see me when I’m on my lucky streak, than why don’t you come back in the Celtic New Year?”
